Weekend - Sports
***1/2
Pretty interesting record. I haven't listened to it much yet, but I like it so far.

Atlas Sound - Logos
****
Logos is the most recent solo album from Deerhunter's Bradford Cox. It came out between Microcastle/Weird Era Cont. and Halcyon Digest and is very much a mix of those two sounds. I don't know why I didn't post it sooner.

Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest
****1/2
Deerhunter continues to release incredible records. This isn't as good as their previous release, Microcastle/Weird Era Cont. in my opinion, but it's still really good!

Avey Tare - Down There
***
I'm a pretty big fan of Avey Tare's songwriting and I think there are some really standout tracks on this record. That being said, it's just not that awesome as a whole. I guess I just expected Avey Tare's first big solo release to be a little more interesting. Anyways, it's worth listening to, so...

Panda Bear - You Can Count On Me 7"
****
Track list:
1. You Can Count On Me
2. Alsatian Darn
I didn't get too excited about Tomboy/Slow Motion 7"; the tracks just didn't do that much for me, but these two are solid gold. These are some of Panda Bear's best songs to date and it makes the wait for the Tomboy LP seem that much longer.

Women - Public Strain
*****
Public Strain is Canadian band Women's second album. Another possible album of the year in my opinion.
Here You Go
Lower Dens - Twin-Hand Movement
*****
Possible Album of the Year in my opinion. Lower Dens is a great shoegaze band from Baltimore led by folk singer Jana Hunter.

Orchid Tapes
A few months ago I got really into Foxes in Fiction, the Toronto, Canada based music project of Warren Hildebrand, and found out that he started a record label called Orchid Tapes. There is some really great stuff on this label, especially Foxes in Fiction, and all of their downloads are free! Check it out: http://orchidtapes.blogspot.com/
